JIM TOVEY LAKEVIEW CONSERVATION AREA
The Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area will transform Mississauga's waterfront into a green oasis in the city, providing over 64 acres of coastal wetlands, trails, and naturalized areas for tranquil waterfront recreation and wildlife migration. Led by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), the Region of Peel and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), this new conservation area will reconnect residents with the lake for the first time in decades. To advance this ambitious plan, LCPL has donated over 250,000 tonnes of concrete and over 5,000 tonnes of rebar extracted from the Lakeview Village site to help fill and construct its foundation and breakwater.

THE MAKING OF A WORLD-CLASS WATERFRONT
For decades, the Lakeview Village pier was closed off from the public, used as an industrial pier to transport coal from ships to the power plant. After its demolition, the coal plant left behind a unique one-kilometre-long pier that will become an important catalyst in reconnecting Mississauga with its waterfront. Once complete, the newly imagined pier will offer panoramic views and a unique waterside experience.

ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION: CREATING A CONNECTED COMMUNITY
At Lakeview Village, we’re looking beyond the car to create a connected community that gives everyone - regardless of the age and stage of life they’re in - access to a variety of transportation options to help them get from point A to B and everywhere in between.
